Pastor Isaac Daka—A Biography
(Born To Build An Ark)
Pastor Isaac Daka is Co-Founder and Director of Ark of Grace Ministries Orphanage and Feeding Foundation in Chipata, Zambia.
Brother Isaac was born in 1978 to Judith and Davis Daka in the Eastern part of Zambia in a small mountainous area called Chipata. Pastor Daka was born into a Christian family. His father was, and still is, a Pastor of a Church in Zambia.
Pastor Daka was born again in 1997 and answered God's call to preach in 2002. He has a background in engineering which has greatly aided him in the building of Ark Of Grace Orphanage and Feeding Foundation that God was preparing him to undertake one day. Brother Isaac attended Chizongwe Technical High School and received a Graduate of Certificate in Theology at The Baptist Theological Seminary of Malawi in 2010. Currently He is studying towards a Bachelor's Degree in Theology at International Bible College of Zambia.
As a young man, Pastor Daka served as a deacon and as youth pastor. He served the Lord as an Evangelist and Missionary to most parts of Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia. He also served as Pastor to Ark Baptist Church in Chipata, Zambia.
Pastor Daka and his wife, Rachel, were married on March 31st, 2002. Rachel is the love of his life and together they have three children and are expecting twins in June 2016.
Rachel is a faithful wife, a blessed mother to her children, and a fellow worker in all that Ark of Grace does and is. Rachel works with the youth and she has joined Brother Isaac in his missions work in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and South Africa. She has also done some missions work in these countries on her own. Rachel is a leader in the Women's Ministry at Ark of Grace. She has been known to work in the planting of the maize and whatever area there may be a need.
Brother Isaac's passion and the driving force of his life is to disciple believers, help supply the community with their physical needs, and evangelize non believers. As the Co-Founder and Director of Ark of Grace Orphanage and Feeding Foundation, he seeks to do this through school outreach, training for Church leaders, setting up bible teaching classes and bible study groups, Church planting and ongoing encouragement, doing weekly feeding programs, digging a well that will serve them and the surrounding community, planting maize and raising livestock to become self-sufficient, to provide some of that overflow food to the community, providing education for the orphans, starting a school, hiring a teacher, seeking sponsors for orphans to provide school supplies and food, doing revivals, organizing crusades, showing the Jesus film, building homes for the orphans, and staff to care for the children.
This is an overwhelming undertaking. One that could have never been attempted, but by the grace of God, faithful partners who donate their time and money, and the vision God gave one man to build a modern day Ark of refuge for the widows, poor, and orphans of Zambia.
All that I talked to in order to write this piece agreed. Pastor Isaac Daka was born to build an Ark where all could come to be physically and spiritually fed.
--- Nehemiah 4:6
6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
Co-founders Pastor Isaac Daka and Pastor Timothy Parker in America, led by God, have joined together workers from all over to build this Ark of Grace. The work has only begun, but all those they have joined together thus far have one mind and work with one spirit, the Spirit of Christ; but, only half is done. More workers are needed to join together to complete this good work God has begun in these two men and Rachel.
They seek to do what God has called us all to do:
--- Deuteronomy 15:11
11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
The Ark of Grace compound affectionately called, The Promised Land, when completed will have 14 cabins, 2 staff houses, a class room, and a dining room. The 4 cabins are widows cabins who will be taking care of the children. The 10 cabins will be for 56 orphans. It will have its own well, chickens, and planting of crops will help to make it self-sufficient and also provide aid to the community.
Many can testify to what God has done and is doing through one man given a vision to build an Ark. Here are just a few:
-- Pastor Timothy Parker: Pastor Daka and myself Co-Founded Ark Of Grace Ministries with the help of God who pulled the heart strings of a lot of good people who have made all this possible by donating regularly. Many give sacrificially out of obedience to God.....for God is in this ministry and is doing great things. Brother Daka and I are amazed at what God is doing. Our desire is to finish this work of love, and to be a conduit for you to work hand in hand with the Lord and bless these children. I think you will find it will also bless your family by your obedience in the Lord.
-- Karissa Thornburg: I am the daughter of Timothy and Shirley Parker. I am also the wife of Preston Thornburg, a Marine Veteran. We have 2 children. I currently do childcare in my home in order to be a stay at home mother.
I guess you could say I am the AOG secretary. I help keep up with sponsors and answer their questions. I do the book keeping for donations and make sure they are used according to the sponsors wishes. Working with my Dad, Pastor Timothy and Brother Daka has been a great blessing. Ark of Grace has given me a family all over the world. It is so nice to deliver to each orphan their support monthly and see all the picture updates. I love to hear everyone's comments and excitement of seeing their orphan receive the things that they can supply to them. I also love hearing how each AOG supporter is blessed in return when I listen to what God leads each of them to do.
It blesses me so much to know I can make a difference in such a small way just by doing what I am called to do! It amazes me what God is doing with all of us through Ark of Grace. I am blessed and honored to be called to do this missions work for our LORD! He just keeps on blessing and supplying every need that arises; and He does it over and over again!
-- Amanda Darby Dykes: We at The Amanda Dress Project are blessed to support Pastor Daka and the Ark of Grace Foundation. With his help, we are able to come together to show orphans the love of Jesus with the simple gift of a handmade dresses. We always look forward to seeing our gifts in action!
--Lorraine Van Rooyan: There is good feedback of where your money goes always!
-- Karen Wood Snyder: I love that we are providing food for the hungry and helping create a self sustaining organization!
-- Janette Hunt Shugar: We appreciate you answering the call on your life and doing all that you guys are doing to help and bless these precious children and the people involved.
-- Kathie Luther: I am so excited about helping Ark of Grace, as the Lord called me in a dream many years ago to feed people in Africa. I have found the right place after these many years and God is blessing the "Promised Land" with much fruit. The Ark is flowing with the power of God's Spirit and it will be unquenchable.
